DELAWARE COUNTY -- A teacher has resigned from the Buckeye Valley School District as detectives investigate possible criminal sexual misconduct involving one or more students.

According to a Buckeye Valley School District release, Matthew Miller admitted to detectives that he engaged in improper conduct with students while employed as a music teacher at Buckeye Valley High School.

Miller's alleged sexual misconduct was first brought to the attention of district administrators on March 12. The district's legal council then reported the allegations to the Delaware County Sheriff's Office.

Miller's resignation was accepted by district officials on Wednesday. The sheriff's office is working with the county prosecutor to determine if criminal charges will be filed.
