Broad & High Dump Truck Crash
Updated: Friday, March 15 2013, 08:11 PM EDT
COLUMBUS -- Broad and High streets in downtown Columbus were shut down for hours overnight and early Friday morning because of a car crash.
Police say a car hit the side of a dump truck in the intersection about 4 a.m. Friday morning.
The driver of the car was injured and taken to Grant Medical Center in stable condition.
The dump truck, that had just come from Newark, was leaking fuel out of its 100 gallon tank causing concern that it might end up in the sewer system.
Inspectors from the environmental protection agency came to make sure that didn't happen.
Fire crews put down absorbent materials down to clean up the scene.
Both roads were reopened by 9:30 a.m. but did effect morning rush hour for workers downtown.
