Apartment Fire in Pataskala: Hero Neighbor

Updated: Friday, April 12 2013, 06:39 PM EDT
PATASKALA — Two apartments were burned badly in a fire this morning at 160 Poff Road in Pataskala.

One neighbor became a hero when he ran around the complex knocking on doors.

Eric Meszaros warned people about the fire.

One woman who got out told Meszaros that her boyfriend was still asleep inside their apartment.

Meszaros threw things at the window to wake him.

When the man leaned out the window Meszaros told him to jump into the bush below.

Firefighters estimate the damage to be between $75,000 and $100,000.

Investigators are still looking for the cause of the fire.
