FIGHTING BACK: Band of Neighbors

Updated: Tuesday, February 26 2013, 08:23 PM EST
COLUMBUS – Angie’s List, the online website giant that allows millions of consumers to post reviews, now helping neighborhoods to fight back.

The website, which started here in Columbus, has created a new tool for neighbors to share safety tips and community happenings.

“It’s
only open to you neighbors,” said Angie Hicks, “we will confirm if they
live in your neighborhood before we invite them in.”

Each
neighborhood will have its own closed forum page, where neighbors can
inform each other about garage sales, block parties, and crime.

“This
is a great way for neighbors to get the heads up to each other about
things, the good, the bad, and the ugly,” said member Mark Quinlan.

Columbus
is one of four cities where “Band Of Neighbors”  is being rolled out
first.  The others are Indianapolis, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.
