CRIME OF THE WEEK: Puppy Theft

Updated: Sunday, February 23 2014, 01:48 PM EST
COLUMBUS (Steve Levine) -- Crime Stoppers offering a cash reward to bring a dog napper to justice.

It’s this week’s ABC 6 Fighting Back Crime Of The Week.

Police
are looking for a woman with tattoos on her arm and neck who walked
into a Petland Store on Bethel Road and walked off with a $4,500
Victorian Bull Dog puppy.

Security video showed the woman
approach a child who was holding the dog and asked to see the puppy,
then walked out of the store with it.

“She put the dog in a bag and exited the store without paying for it,” said Gerald Milner of Crime Stoppers.

It’s
the second time the Bethel Store has been targeted by thieves since
January. Police are now investigating the thefts of puppies from four
Petland stores.

“It might be a team of people, or it may be individuals, we just don’t know,” said Milner.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS.CRIME OF THE WEEK: Puppy Theft
