Would-Be Carjacker Stopped by Good Samaritans in N. Columbus

Updated: Friday, August 2 2013, 11:42 PM EDT
COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- Two good Samaritans tackled a would-be carjacker on the city's North Side on Thursday afternoon, then held the suspect until deputies arrived, according to investigators.

Franklin Co. sheriff's deputies tried to arrest the suspect in the parking lot of a Waffle House on SR-161 after smelling drugs in his truck, but the man escaped on foot.

The suspect tried to force his way into a woman's car a short distance away from the parking lot, but was stopped and physically restrained by two men.

The men responsible for preventing the carjacking left the scene without identifying themselves after deputies arrived.Would-Be Carjacker Stopped by Good Samaritans in N. Columbus
