West Columbus Food Truck Robbed at Gunpoint

Updated: Friday, January 18 2013, 07:20 PM EST
COLUMBUS -- Police are searching for a gunman who robbed two workers Tuesday night inside a popular West Side taco truck.

El Camioncito Del Sabor (The Flavor Bus), located on Norton Road, was held up shortly before midnight, when a robber walked up to the counter and demanded cash.

The cook initially refused to hand over the loot, but was forced to do so when the suspect took out a gun and pointed it at the employees.

This is the third food truck to be targeted by thieves since October, 2012.  One truck was held up at gunpoint shortly before Halloween in East Columbus, and a second was broken into last month on Georgesville  Road.

The owner of El Camioncito is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the robber.

If you have information about any of these crimes, you're encouraged to call Columbus Police at 614-645-4545.
