MARION -- Sheriff's detectives think they've solved a ring of brazen, daylight burglaries -- possibly stretching across three counties -- with the arrests of three people Tuesday.
Lynn Claybaugh left his Campbell Road home to run a quick errand, then returned home to find two men inside the house, according to 911 recordings.
"Somebody just broke into my house and I'm chasing him down the road," Claybaugh told dispatchers.
The chase led into the city of Marion, and although the suspects scattered, police and deputies were able to arrest three people on St. Gallen St. based on descriptions and a license plate provided by Claybaugh.
Jared Christian, 35, of Marion, and Raymond Morrow, 27, also of Marion are charged with burglary. Stephanie Bussard, 32, of Delaware, was also arrested and charged with receiving stolen property.
Sheriff Tim Bailey credited Claybaugh with helping catch the trio.
"He had the presence of mind to recognize what was going on," said Bailey.
