CRIME OF THE WEEK: Police Investigate 2012 North Columbus Homicide

COLUMBUS (Camille Doty) -- Police are searching for potential suspects involved in a homicide in North Columbus. 

Miles Jurdan Burgin was gunned down outside an apartment complex on the 2100 block of Fitzroy Drive near Morse Road. He died Sept. 4, 2012.   

His mother, Latisha Caldwell, fears the case has gone cold.  Most of the victim's family lives in Indianapolis and have lost contact with police.

Detectives say solving this homicide is a priority, but its been a challenge get cooperating witnesses.

"Unless someone comes forward with some information to assist law enforcement, the Columbus Division of Police is probably going to have a very difficult time solving this," says Detective Gerald Milner.

Caldwell hopes one day shell have the chance to confront those responsible.

I just wish one day I could look these guys in the eye and ask why, she says.

Witnesses have told police  they saw two men running from the scene after Burgin was shot.
