CRIME HOT SPOTS: Taco Truck Ransacked

Updated: Friday, August 2 2013, 11:42 PM EDT
COLUMBUS (Steve Levine) -- A family taco truck business is fighting back after crooks busted in during Mother’s Day weekend.

Michael Gomez and his parents have operated Taqueria La Fonda Tacos, 3330 East Broad St, for the past three years, with little trouble.

Over the weekend, someone broke into the tiny business and ransacked the place.

"They didn’t take anything, which was weird,” Michael said. “[They] didn’t take the microwave, or utensils. They were looking for money.”

The uninvited guests are still going to cost the business at least $200 to repair the busted truck door, and to buy extra locks to prevent thieves from getting inside for a second time.

“It makes me mad. Why us?” Michael said.

Columbus police are investigating the break-in. If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS.CRIME HOT SPOTS: Taco Truck Ransacked
