CRIME HOT SPOTS: Chillcothe Auto Shops Robbed

Updated: Friday, August 2 2013, 11:42 PM EDT
CHILLICOTHE (Steve Levine) -- ABC 6/FOX 28 has uncovered a crime hot spot where thieves are busting into auto repair shops and stealing cars, parts, and tools.

At least three businesses in the area have reported break-ins to police within the past two weeks.

Justin Johnson, who owns Air One Auto & Towing at 350 East Main St., said a customer’s pick-up truck and more than $20,000 in tools were stolen from his business.

“It puts tears in my eyes. This was my lifetime of work," Johnson said. "A lot of pride went into it."

Justin, a member of the U.S. army, was training for a deployment to Kuwait when crooks busted into the shop he opened just three months ago.

“The first day I walk away to go train, I get [a] call [that] we have to shut down because we have no tools,” Johnson said.

Police are now investigating the robbery. Anyone with information about the crime is encouraged to call Chillicothe police at 740-773-1191.CRIME HOT SPOTS: Chillcothe Auto Shops Robbed
