Some H&R Block Customers Not Getting Refunds

COLUMBUS – Taxes can be very frustrating; especially if you try filing them yourself. That’s why many look to “tax experts” to get the biggest refund from the federal government (and state governments too) but some aren’t seeing their refund checks in the mailbox.
H&R Block customers who filed a Form 8863 for Education Tax Credits received notices from the IRS saying the form was not accepted and their taxes could not be processed.
According to H&R Block’s Facebook page, they are in contact with the IRS “to clarify the situation.”
“This year the IRS changed the way it processes and accepts answers to some ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ questions on Form 8863 as transmitted by H&R Block,” the company told its customers. “Once we learned of this IRS change, we worked to comply with the new IRS process.”
According to H&R Block, any additional reviews would not impact estimated refund dates but some customers say they have.
“It’s been over a month and I still haven’t received my refund,” Christina Heath said.
The tax experts at H&R Block guaranteed tax refunds in 21-days or less. According to a representative from the company’s corporate office in Kansas City, H&R Block is in contact with the IRS to resolve this issue.
