Searching For 3 Suspects After Home Invasion

Updated: Monday, April 1 2013, 05:51 PM EDT
MADISON COUNTY — A home invasion early Saturday morning left a local internet start-up star badly beaten with hundreds of stitches in his head.

Alan Homewood, founder of 2Checkout.com, was asleep in his big Choctaw Lake home when three men rushed into his bedroom, two carrying guns, and one had a ball bat.

Homewood tells ABC 6/FOX 28 Reporter Carol Luper he got down on the floor when they ordered him to,  but when he stood up, they got into a fight, and they beat him with the bat.

He says “it was a pretty violent altercation.”

He says his dog, Bear, was barking, and when the fight started, Bear bit down on one of the robbers, and took a piece out of him.

Homewood was bleeding badly but was able to get away.  He ran to a neighbor's house who called 9-1-1.

He says the three home invaders were thin, white, young men but probably older than teenagers.

They got away with cash, a gun, electronics and Ohio State memorabilia.

Jennifer Holder, a neighbor,  has lived at Choctaw Lake for 16 years and she says she and her husband felt safe in the past but now they don’t feel as safe as they did.

Madison County Sheriff Jim Sabin is asking anyone with information to call his office.

He says there is up to a $10,000 reward for an arrest and an indictment of the three men who did this.
