Community Fed Up with Bad Neighbor

LOCKBOURNE (Ben Garbarek) – A community is fed up with some bad neighbors.
They say the trailer on Commerce Street off of Vause Street is an eyesore. The aluminum siding has all been ripped off, leaving the insulation exposed.
Police are apparently all too familiar with the home. Neighbors say police are called all the time, but the worst incident happened in March. Shots were fired at the trailer and ended up hitting a neighboring home. No one was hurt.
“We knew we had to take action,” said Village of Lockbourne Councilwoman Diane Cade. “The trailer had to go.”
Cade said an eviction notice has now been posted at the home, but so far the tenants have ignored it. They were supposed to be out of the house by Saturday.
“If I had my way, I’d get a tow truck, hook that thing up and go,” Cade said. “I can’t do that, but I would.”
No one answered the door when we stopped by.
Cade said the Village wants to turn the lot into a community center, but the Village won’t buy the lot as long as the trailer is still on it.
