Updated: Friday, February 15 2013, 07:48 PM EST
NORTHEAST COLUMBUS -- A woman was attacked while filling up at a Northeast Columbus gas station late Thursday night.

Columbus Police said it happened around 11:30 p.m. at the Speedway on E. Dublin-Granville Road near Sinclair Road.

Investigators told ABC 6/FOX 28 News that the victim was pumping gas when a man in his early to mid 30s pulled her from her car and tried to take her purse.

The victim told officers the suspect had walked up to her car after getting out of a white full-size passenger van with white paint covering the passenger windows.

She further described the suspect as being 5'7" tall with a medium build, short dark receding hair and an unshaven face.

The case is being investigated as an attempted robbery and kidnapping, and detectives said surveillance pictures may have captured the whole incident on tape.

If you know anything about the attempted robbery and kidnapping, call the Columbus Police Robbery Squad at (614) 645-4665 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at (614) 461-8477.
