ZANESVILLE (Chelsea Spears) -- A woman is dead and a man injured after a burglary ended in a double shooting at a Zanesville apartment early Thursday morning.

Zanesville Police say officers responded to a report of a burglary and shooting at 1070 1/2 Linden Ave. shortly before 3:15 a.m. Thursday. When they arrived at the apartment, they found two people with gunshot wounds.

According to a Zanesville Police press release, a 39-year-old woman died after she was taken to the hospital. The press release also states a 46-year-old man was transported to Grant Medical Center. The press release did not state the man's condition.

A woman who lives in the apartment complex says the injured man lived in the apartment and was the shooter. She also said an 11-year-old boy lived in the apartment with the man.
