NORTHEAST COLUMBUS (Chelsea Spears) -- Officers with Columbus Police are trying to figure out what caused a one-vehicle crash that killed a Westerville woman Saturday night.

33-year-old Lauren T. Thornwell died at Grant Medical Center Sunday morning, a little more than 7 hours after the crash.  She was originally taken to St. Ann's Hospital by MedFlight in life-threatening condition, but later died at Grant due to injuries sustained in the crash.

The accident happened around 8:20 p.m. on State Route 161 westbound, just west of Little Turtle Way.

A press release says Thornwell's 2006 Cadillac SRX left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a wall on both sides of the freeway before coming to a stop.

Columbus police are still investigating the crash. Westerville Woman Dies in SR 161 Crash
