HOCKING COUNTY (James Jackson) -- Today the search continues for a man Police says shot two people, at the Wildwoods Backwood Retreats Cabins, in Hocking County, Sunday night. One person survived.

Police think the suspected gunman, believed armed and dangerous, may be hiding out in Central Ohio. Westerville police tell ABC 6/FOX 28 the suspect has family in Blendon Township. Authorities all over the area are looking for him.

Detectives say the gunman shot a man and a woman inside a rental cabin. The man died. The 31-year- old woman went to a home in the area and called for help.  She told dispatchers the shooter may have also shot himself. But, when deputies got there, he had left the area.

Ray McLaughlin and his wife have lived there for years. He says seeing sheriff's deputies in their community is uncommon. "It's usually quiet and nice out here and nothing usually goes on. Peaceful place," McLaughlin said.

Deputies didn't say how the victims knew each other or if they knew the suspected shooter. The woman described the getaway van to dispatchers, saying it was a white, 2007 Chrysler Town and Country van, with Ohio license plates DRA 8569. She was taken to Grant Medical Center, in critical condition.

Police have not released a motive for the shooting. Police are also asking ABC6/FOX28 to not release any names. Search Continues for Suspected Cabin Killer
