ARENA DISTRICT (Jen French) -- An arena district bar manager is asking for better parking lot security after an overnight shooting marks a second bout of violence in the area this month.

Columbus Police say someone shot 26-year-old Marquise Johnson-Doss in the leg in the parking lot outside of the Endzone after 2 a.m. Sunday.

An officer responded when he heard a gunshot in the area. Police believe it started as a fight. They have been interviewing witnesses to determine who fired the gun.

Jerry Hunt, the EndZone manager, said the bar hires private security guards and asks Columbus Police to patrol their establishment. The bar was holding a charity event before the shooting.

"That's the issue with the Arena District in general- we're all business people - we're all trying to make the dollar but at the end of the day if we all don't start working together to curb this problem making sure this parking lot get security it's just going to continue," Hunt said.

On Sunday July 6, police say there was some sort of fight in the area that also resulted in an injury. Man Shot in Arena District Parking Lot
