ROSS COUNTY (Chelsea Spears) -- Almost 150 marijuana plants valued at $150,000 are now shut down in southern Ross County all thanks to an anonymous tip and a dog named "Big Mac."

A press release from the Ross County Sheriff's Office says deputies got an anonymous tip about the plants Wednesday night. Deputies worked "well into the night" to recover the plants, the press release says.

The press release also says that the force's newest K-9, "Big Mac," played an instrumental role in the search.

"Sheriff Lavender wishes to thank those community partners that made it possible for his office to obtain the two K-9 Units that are currently in service for the Sheriff's Office," the press release stated.

The Sheriff's Office is still investigating the discovery of the plants.
They say that without the tip, they may never have discovered these drugs.

Anyone who suspects drug activity in the Ross County area is encouraged to call Southern Ohio Crime Stoppers at 740-773-TIPS, the U.S. Major Crimes Task Force at 740-775-1208 or Sheriff Lavender's office at 740-773-1185.Anonymous Tip and a K-9 Lead to Marijuana Plant Discovery
