OBAMA

DENVER (AP) -- On a night 45 years after Martin Luther King Junior delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech, Barack Obama accepted the Democratic presidential nomination. To the cheers of an estimated 84,000 at Denver's Invesco Field, Obama made history. He's the first black American to win a major party nomination. Obama made no overt mention of his own race. But he did refer to himself as "not the likeliest candidate." Obama said America has had "enough" of broken politics and doesn't want John McCain to continue "the failed policies of George W. Bush."

Oprah says she thinks Obama's speech was the "most powerful thing" she's ever experienced. She was an early supporter of Obama, backing him even before the Democratic primaries got under way last year.

Onstage Foxx declared "With Obama, we make history." They also performed their hit "Gold Digger." The crowd was treated to a couple of new songs West said he's written in the past several days. The voting is taking place all over the world and officials say fan participation has been "phenomenal."

Topping the list is German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

He's created one character who's really buffed-out, and another who is pudgy. Woods says he's learning stuff from playing the game, because putts he's had in real life break the same way and in the same amount as they do in the game. He says he'll be playing real golf again in January, but he doesn't have any idea when he'll be able to compete again.
