CHRISTIAN BALE - GREETS FANS AT BARCELONA PREMIERE
BARCELONA, Spain (AP) -- Christian Bale didn't let assault accusations stop him from hanging with fans at the Spanish premiere of "The Dark Knight." Through his lawyers, Bale has said those allegations are false. So, last night he greeted hundreds of fans outside Barcelona's Coliseum Theater. He spent half an hour signing autographs, looking relaxed in a tailored dark blue suit and asking each autograph seeker's name. His wife was there, smiling. And, Maggie Gyllenhaal stood next to Bale as he signed autographs. About 25 camera crews waited outside the theater. Bale did not speak to reporters and made no comment about the allegations that he assaulted his mother and one of his three sisters at a London hotel on Sunday.
"MAMMA MIA" - CHRISTINE BARANSKI
LONDON (AP) -- Actress Christine Baranski says working with Meryl Streep and Julie Walters in "Mamma Mia" was probably even more fun than it looks on screen. She says off camera they had just as many laughs and really "adored each other." She says that made it easy to bring to life that they had known each other for years, that they'd had great adventures and had been in a girl band. Baranski says there was a feminine vibe on the set of "Mamma Mia," but it was more "in that lusty, sensual, fun way." She says it wasn't "angry." "Mamma Mia" opened in second at the box office last weekend, taking in nearly 28 million dollars.
"MAD MEN" - ELISABETH MOSS
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) -- The 1960s don't "seem it was like a dinosaur age anymore." That's the observation of Elisabeth Moss, who plays Peggy on "Mad Men." She says, instead, "it seems like it was just us in different clothes." About those 1960s styles, Moss says she and the other actresses on "Mad Men" "used to wear a lot of vintage clothing or loved '60s dresses." But, she says that's changed, and they "can't wear anything from the '60s now because if anything looks too retro" they're afraid people are going to look at them and say "oh, my God. She can't get away from the show." The second season of "Mad Men" starts Sunday on AMC.
